I understand the box size and reversal setting but I can't seem to get a clear explanation of the base period value setting. When I set up the chart in data series it gives the option of setting your base chart type. I selected tick since I assume a person would want to see the movement up or down with each price tick. Then you have to and a base period value and this is where I have an issue. What effect does this number have on the chart appearance and the bar that forms?
